WE ARE FORESTRY is a growing movement whose members support the sustainability and health of West Virginia’s forests. Through our dedication in taking care of this beautiful, renewable resource, we all reap the benefits of the forests’ wildlife, recreation and timber.
WE ARE FORESTRY strives to educate West Virginians about how important our forests are to our state’s citizens and economy. For instance, West Virginia’s forests provide a vibrant $4 billion economy for our state. Wood-related occupations are the backbone of the rural economy in West Virginia. The forest community also pays millions of dollars annually in taxes that help support our schools, roads and government infrastructure.
WE ARE FORESTRY consist of 260,000 forestland owners, 30,000 forest employees, tens-of-thousands of support business workers, truck drivers, foresters, forest professionals, family members of these valuable professions and people like you who care about our forests’ future.
